For the first time in New Zealand, the NZAMI (New Zealand Association for Migration and Investment) is recognising the major contribution of migrants and professionals involved in the Immigration industry.
Greenstone Global is represented by finalists in 4 of the 6 award categories. Over 50 nominations were received across all award categories and 3 finalists per category were chosen by independent judges.

Adviser a finalist in two categories
Vanessa Sharratt, licensed immigration adviser and director of Greenstone Global, is a finalist in both the Immigration Adviser / Lawyer of the Year and the NZAMI Service Award categories.
The Immigration Adviser or Lawyer of the Year award recognises outstanding professional individuals who are a Licensed Immigration Adviser or Immigration Lawyer who enhance the migration profession.
The NZAMI Service Award marks a special contribution being made by a member or member’s company to and for NZAMI and its membership.
Vanessa was nominated for her tireless championing of her clients’ cause. She is prepared to tackle the difficult cases at a detailed, technical level, and in doing so has managed to gain positive outcomes for clients who would not otherwise have gained residence in New Zealand. Vanessa has also been an active participating member of the NZAMI and a past board director of this industry association and is a member of the Immigration Advisor Authority reference group.

Greenstone Global is particularly pleased that two of our clients are finalists in their categories.
Mark Horning finalist in NZAMI/Business/Investor Award Category
Mark Horning of Fox Glacier Skydiving is a finalist in the NZAMI Business/Investor Award category. This award is unique in that it recognises a migrant whose business achievements and capital investment have made a significant contribution to the growth of New Zealand. The personal achievements of the migrant may also be taken into account.
Mark and Jodi Horning entered New Zealand in December 2007 on work visas. In January 2010 Mark and Jodi Horning applied for and received an initial Long Term Business Visa to run the business of Skydive Waikato, which they bought in 2009. The opportunity then arose to purchase the business of Skydive New Zealand in the South Island, a business that was established 15 years ago, after the untimely death of the company director Rod Miller in an airplane crash in September 2011. Had Mark not bought the business at Fox Glacier, this operation could well have been closed down altogether which would have resulted in job losses and the loss of a key tourist attraction for the region.
Mark Horning plays a key role in imparting to New Zealanders the skills required to operate as Tandem Skydive instructors. He brings to New Zealand a wealth of skydiving experience and is one of only two Certified Tandem Examiners in the country.
Lesley Davies finalist in Migrant of the Year Category
Lesley Davies is a finalist in the Migrant of the Year Category. This award recognises a migrant whose personal efforts and achievements during the past 12 months make them an exceptional migrant. Lesley Davies and her partner, Grant, arrived in NZ in 2012. Lesley has a wealth of International educational experience in the UK and other developing countires. In the last 8 months, she has played an integral part in setting up the newly created Murupara Area School. This is a year 1 – 13 school located in a rural town in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Murupara has a population of approximately 1800 and the Iwi is Ngati Manawa. The area has economic and social challenges, typical of more remote rural locations.
Lesley arrived at a critical time for the school. When she was appointed in October 2012 there was a mass of work still to be completed before the school opening in February 2013. Not knowing the community, the students and their culture was a big challenge.
Lesley was on the appointments panel for the majority of the 50 appointments the school needed to make in two months. Her contr4ibution to the successful launching of the new school has been significant.
