5 April 2024 – Faster Immigration for Secondary School Teachers
Starting May 2024, secondary school teachers gain a faster pathway to New Zealand residence through the Green List Straight to Residence process. This policy change, alongside medical professionals and skilled engineers, addresses the imminent shortage of educators. Overseas teachers can secure residency with Teaching Council registration and a job offer from an accredited employer, eliminating the previous two-year employment requirement in New Zealand.
